After overcoming a rough start with her rosary and bead business, Beads of Faith owner, Kathleen Pajor, is now seeing a very bright future with the help of a $5,000 loan from MetroAction’s MicroLoan program.  Motivated by her love of the art of bead making and her faith in her ability to succeed, Ms. Pajor admits there were many challenges to her business becoming a reality such as organizational struggles and lack of funding.

“When you start up and don’t have the resources to pull from, it is very difficult. I am happy to have been able to obtain financing from MetroAction to help make my business successful,” states Ms. Pajor.

What once began as a hobby for Ms. Pajor has now taken on a life of its own and expanded into a growing business in Luzerne County. At Beads of Faith, customers can order one of a kind custom designed rosaries and beaded jewelry. Ms. Pajor takes pride in fitting her pieces to the personality of the customer. Now working as a nurse, being a mom and operating her own business, Ms. Pajor knows that her hard work is worth every effort when she sees the smile on a satisfied customer’s face.

Thomas Joseph recently received $35,000 in funding from MetroAction for his business, Acumark, Inc.  Acumark is a direct marketing and printing businesses located in West Pittson. Three area businesses recently recieved small business financing from MetroAction. 

MetroAction Loan To Adventure Family TripsAdventure Family Trips in Luzerne County, owned by Kathryon Burnside, received $25,000 to start an online adventure travel business.    Ms. Burnside will use the funds to purchase equipment and market her new business.

Michael Stalter, Stalter's Cafe, recieves MetroAction MicroloanMichael Stalter, owner of Stalter’s cafe, received $15,000 to open a new restaurant and bar in Scranton.  Mr. Stalter will use the funds to purchase equipment and inventory and make renovations to the building.

Kristine Corona, owner of Kristine Corona’s Family Home Daycare in East Stroudsburg, recently received a $5,500 loan to grow her business. Kristine Corona’s Family Home Daycare offers quality childcare as well as a full-scale pre-school program.

MetroAction recently awarded Kevin Messet of New Seasons Financial, with a trip to Woodloch Pines for referring a client to MetroAction during our  Spring Referral Incentive Program.
