MetroAction Assists Family-Owned Plumbing Business

Although many family-owned businesses are struggling in this economy, thanks to a $60,000 loan from MetroAction, Carl M. Krasavage & Sons Plumbing & Heating, Swoyersville will continue to serve many satisfied residential and commercial customers throughout Luzerne County.

Owner Carl M. Krasavage began his plumbing career over forty-one years ago as an apprentice for another plumbing contractor. When that business closed and the customers kept calling, Krasavage knew he had to take a chance and start his own business. Now thirty years later, the business provides sales, installation and repair services to over one-thousand customers and has grown to include Krasavage’s sons and grandsons.

Recently when Krasavage needed a loan to purchase new equipment and supplies, he approached a national bank that referred him to MetroAction. MetroAction’s Small Business Loan Program helps start-up or expanding business owners with the opportunity to improve their businesses and financial futures. The funding was exactly what Krasavage needed to continue operating.

“Thanks to MetroAction, I was able to purchase a truck and tools and may even be able to add one or two more employees in the future,” says Krasavage who attributes his success to hard work and dedication. Unlike many of his competitors, Krasavage offers 24-hour emergency service and guarantees all company work.

“The staff at MetroAction went the extra mile and without their help, I would not have been able to continue doing business,” concludes Krasavage.
