Marcellus Shale and Your Business
I’m sure you’ve heard about the opportunities to start or expand your business as development of Marcellus Shale natural gas continues to grow in Pennsylvania. We have a program to help you learn how you can take advantage of these opportunities!MetroAction and Keystone College are co-sponsoring a program to help local business owners learn from industry experts about opportunities to deliver services and support the energy industry.
Janice Lobdell, Pennsylvania Oil and Gas Association (PIOGA), will provide information and insight that will help you understand the drilling process including horizontal drilling technology, potential economic impact, and supply chain opportunities.
Mike Narcavage, Chesapeake Energy Corporation, will discuss Chesapeake Energy’s operations, what they are looking for from potential vendors, steps to becoming established as a vendor, and best practices to successfully working in the industry.
Joann Kowalski, Penn State Cooperative Extension, will lead a panel discussion with several local companies who are already responding.
Experts from format: MetroAction, University of Scranton Small Business Development Center, and Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Commission will provide information on small business planning and financing.
This program will be held at Evans Hall at Keystone College, La Plume, and seating is limited. Cost is $35 and includes lunch and refreshments. Registration and payment are required by March 11.
