A Way to Save on Your Business Energy Bill

In March of 2009 The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce launched its partnership with OnDemand Energy Solutions, a Pittsburgh-based energy management company. Acting as a group through the energy pool and buying electricity in bulk from a third-party supplier, Chamber members are better positioned to reduce the price spike that northeastern Pennsylvania businesses will experience upon rate cape removal effective January 1, 2010.

Currently, The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce boasts the largest OnDemand energy pool of any Chamber in the state of Pennsylvania. Because of this, we are able to make larger buys in turn saving our members more money. With a savings of $.01 per kilowatt hour, we are estimating that our members who have signed on and participate could collectively save over $530,000!

On average, participating businesses will be saving $21,000 annually. As we release our first round of contracts for the OnDemand Energy program, we invite you to contact participants who have signed on directly to get their perspective on the program.
